Seveso is a small city located in the Lombardy region of Italy, situated approximately 20 kilometers north of Milan. It is named after the River Seveso that flows through the town. Seveso is primarily known for a chemical accident that occurred in 1976, which lead to the creation of the Seveso Directive, a European Union law regarding industrial accidents. Despite this, the city has rebuilt and is now a charming and peaceful town with several historical landmarks, including the Romanesque church of San Giovanni Battista and the 18th-century Villa Crivelli. Seveso also has an array of local shops, markets and restaurants that attract both locals and tourists.
